KOWLOON BLUES
SzeChai “Bluesman”, known by his Chinese stage name 藍調人 (Bluesman), hails from the vibrant city of Kowloon, Hong Kong. His musical journey weaves through the soulful tapestry of Canto-blues, where he wears multiple hats: singer, guitarist, and composer.
As a guitarist, he plucks the strings in the 7-piece Chicago Blues style cover band, The Wolfman Jack Blues Band. Their harmonious melodies resonate through the city’s alleys, infusing the air with raw energy. But that’s not all! He also wields the double bass in HK’s exclusive rockabilly quartet, The Boogie Playboys. Their rhythm-packed performances transport audiences to a bygone era of jukeboxes and leather jackets.
Beyond the spotlight, he dons the hat of a show organizer. As the co-founder of the Dirty Boogie Rockabilly Festival, he curates electrifying events that celebrate the fusion of rock n roll, country, and boogie.
In January 2021, he unveiled his debut solo album, “Kowloon Blues and Other Assorted Love Songs”. This musical opus weaves tales of love, longing, and the pulsating heartbeat of Kowloon’s streets.
